The attention to preserve the environment is manifested in the small things of every day, so we wondered if it was possible here to trigger a virtuous circle in defense of our land, aware that sustainable tourism is also part of the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
First, we chose a 100% green energy supply from renewable energy sources thanks to our partnership with Repower. We use the same clean energy to charge our guests' electric cars thanks to our 22Kw charging station.
We at the Hotel Lucrezia Borgia support Nature, which is why together with 3Bee we have created our Oasis, a virtual space, where you can see in real time the impact that we are actually generating.

We have relied on "il miele della nonna di Cimatti Enrico" from Meldola, in Emilia-Romagna, and now we monitor one of its hives remotely, waiting to receive its delicious wildflower honey. It will be a slow and unhurried process and we await your precious honey to be able to enjoy it in our buffet breakfast.
Just think that if three conventional light bulbs were replaced with LED bulbs in one million homes, 675,000 tons of CO2 would be emitted less per year. That's why we replaced all conventional light bulbs with LED bulbs. It's a simple change, but one with a big impact. In our hotel we have 52 rooms and in each of them there is an average of 9 light bulbs. The result? If we consider the light bulbs turned on for about 4 hours a day, we are managing to emit 8.9 tons of CO2 less per year, so we have reduced by 84% the CO2 emissions resulting from the light bulbs in the rooms alone, without considering the large amount of light bulbs in the common areas, in the Restaurant and in our Meeting Rooms.
True, LED bulbs cost more, but the investment pays for itself quickly: they consume 80% less, and while a conventional bulb has a useful life of 1,000 hours, or an average of one year, LED bulbs last 15 times longer. In addition, thanks to our card key system for starting the electricity in the rooms, when you leave the room the lights are automatically turned off, avoiding unnecessary waste.
Upon entering the room, you may notice some eco-friendly touches:
Minibars have been emptied of plastic, which has been replaced with a complimentary glass water bottle. Our glasses are now paper and individually bagged with a PLA wrap, an innovative biodegradable and compostable bioplastic that is derived from the processing of sugars found in corn, beets, sugar cane and other natural materials. In doing so, we moved to a cardboard recycling rate that is 81%, compared to 45% for plastic. The Courtesy Sets are eco-friendly To limit the environmental impact of frequent washing of towels, only those left on the floor or in the sink are replaced. We use eco-labeled products.
At the restaurant we serve treated drinking water in jugs, both natural and sparkling, completely eliminating the plastic from the tables. At the Bar we have eliminated plastic straws, replacing them with practical biodegradable straws. Our restaurant offers a menu that contains local and seasonal products to help reduce greenhouse gases resulting from the transport of goods.
